Awesome cafe! The pastries are the best in town, perfectly cooked. A blue cheese tart was going into the oven and came out delicious. Lovely coffee. Highly recommend. Kid friendly. Kind service.
Had one of the best coffees i have ever had here this week. You know when the crema stays in top of the silky milk right to the last drop! I didnt want it to end... also pistachio croissant. Omg!!

I wish I could do 6 ⭐! I can't decide what to mention first, the coffee, the food or the service! Was expecting it to be good, not many coffee shops have a constant 5 star review, but it's definitely deserved! It's been a week and I cannot stop thinking when are we planning our next trip past Armadale so we can stop in! The service was small country town perfection, the warm welcome and I loved watching the regulars popping past, known by name and grabbing their regular orders! The coffee was perfect, smooth and very nice! Also tried the chai and it was a really nice blend! We tried the blueberry bagel and portuguese tart, both were the best we have ever tried! Do not miss this place when passing through, you will not regret it!
We arrived in Armidale on Australia Day and Black Cat was the only coffee shop open and thank goodness for that or we may have missed this gem. My husband and I had two double shot latte/flat whites. Their coffee was sublime. We went back two more days in a row and their coffee was consistently perfect. We also had the Portuguese tart for two days afterwards. Incredible!! They are a must try. We can't rave enough about this great little coffee shop and their owners. Their service was friendly, efficient and they obviously love to serve excellent coffee and yummy fresh baked goods.
What a gem! Beautiful Russian couple with the most incredible baked goods and delicious coffee! I had the special bacon and egg roll with a coffee then couldn't resist getting the plain and apple croissants. Best I've ever eaten 😍❤️ This will be my go to place whenever I'm back in Armidale 😊
Woke up early on Sun morning first day in Armidale it was about 6:30am. Figuring I had Buckley's of finding a cage open at that time. Was pleasantly surprised to find this Cafe open. Arrived to find what is clearly a local institution. Everything is baked on-site and the pastries are exceptional. Coffee is perfect and service immaculate. I Will be coming here every mornings Im in Armidale guaranteed.
Really popular and busy at 7am - line out door. We got ham and cheese bagel, salmon and cream cheese bagel and an egg and bacon roll + coffee. The food was outstanding, the egg from bacon and egg roll was a hit runny and exploded on my husband's shirt. My coffee cup lid would not stay on and I ended up with a lot of coffee spilling on me. But what I did get to drink was very good and so was the food and we would 100% come back again. 😅
Grateful that this shop was open during Xmas weekend. We got sick of eating junk/fast food during the road trip. The kind man who served us, gave us options when he clearly knew our dietary requirements due to religious reasons. The Portugese tarts were to die for and we ended up buying more to take home. The coffees were on point too. Thank you so much for the good breakfast and awesome service. Will definitely come back again next time!
